It all started when two highly successful interior architects grew tired of working for large firms. They wanted their own practice that would implement all the best bits from a corporate environment alongside all the even better bits associated with being an independent. With an end goal in mind they knocked on our door and tasked us with creating a name and brand that fit their vision.
Insight
Curious. Collaborative. Creative. We identified what make Blokka who they are. They wanted something to differentiate them in a busy marketplace, with a style that could disrupt the landscape as much as their designs do. ‘Design by curiosity’, the strapline we created for them, communicates their business ethos quickly.

Impact
The name, Blokka, and their services, informed our brand design thinking around building blocks. These represent their creativity and imagination, as well as the connection of their collaborative approach. From a purely visual point of view, blocks provided a structure that enabled us to create powerful and consistent design elements across all business communications. The website incorporated a grid structure that allows the site to build as you scroll through it. The logo was formed by cropping letters into individual square blocks. Bold and impactful, supported by a strong colour palette, it stands out proudly. The idea of connecting blocks can be weaved throughout all communications, creating an ownable style and building brand familiarity for Blokka.
